The Campbell Road Community and
Youth Soccer Center

A project for the children of Houston

Two partners – the Albion Hurricanes FC and Chapelwood United Methodist Church– are together transforming a quiet 10 acre site in Houston into a dynamic community gathering place to serve our city’s children and families with sports, outreach activities and after-school programs.

The new Campbell Road project is dedicated to growing great children, great families and a great community in today’s challenging world by offering character-building activities like after-school youth activities, soccer and faith-based programs. Located in the Spring Branch area of Houston, at 3911 Campbell between Kempwood and Clay, the project will redevelop the site’s extensive open space and several serviceable buildings into facilities for outdoor and indoor activities that will inspire and strengthen children and transform neighborhoods.

When fully completed, the Campbell Road Community and Youth Soccer Center will include a soccer training and competition facility that can host city and neighborhood soccer programs and will serve as the home of the Albion Hurricanes FC (“AHFC”), one of metropolitan Houston’s top competitive soccer clubs for girls and boys ages 5-18. Existing buildings on the site are the home to Spanish-language church services under the guidance of Pastor Paul May and Chapelwood United Methodist Church (“Chapelwood”). AHFC and Chapelwood were drawn to the Campbell Road site for this community project because it will accommodate programs for children and families. They have invited new Boy Scout troops and other children’s programs to locate here, and invited partnerships with area schools, local government and community organizations.

Kids long to belong Children of all ages and backgrounds in our city need the promise of a positive environment and character-building activities now more than ever. They are bombarded daily by negative images, questionable values, and relentless peer pressure.
